The task seemed simple enough – find a vacuum cleaner to remove hot ashes from a fireplace or solid fuel heater or stove, but we couldn't – until now that is!

When it's persistently cold, it's neither practical nor desirable to have to wait until the fire's not just out, but the ashes are sufficiently cool, before cleaning them out.

Removing hot ashes by hand is messy and potentially dangerous and every other ash vacuum we checked could only be used for cold ash.

We believe the brand new CENE HOT is the world's first domestic electric vacuum cleaner that has been specially designed to cope with removing hot ashes – even from fires that are still alight.

Manufactured in Italy, this superb machine happily copes with hot embers up to 500°C.

It is bag-less and of course, you can use it for cold ash as well.

The 18Litre metal canister with handle is mounted on four, easy-glide wheels and comes supplied with 1.1m (3ft 7 ¼”) of flexible stainless steel tubing plus a 20cm (8”) straight metal pipe.

A powerful 950 watt motor is protected by a special filter encased in a stainless steel guard and incorporates a clever cleaning mechanism for automatically shaking and removing any ash that may have become attached to the filter.
